What do we do?
As the name suggests, Pebbles for Africa sources and supplies pebbles of all sizes and different colours to gardeners, nurseries and landscapers.
Pebbles
Our standard pebble colours are steel blue, dove-grey, Alaska-white, crystal (which is a light brown), and tan-spot, which as the name implies is tan with spots. It is very attractive and next to white is our most popular colour. From time to time we are able to obtain limited quantities of other colours.
The light brown and tan-spot pebbles are sourced on private land. Since grading and sorting is done manually with no machinery being used at any stage the environment is not polluted, and uniformity of size and colour is ensured. None of our pebbles are sourced from rivers or from the coast.
Our grey and white pebbles are mined and are tumbled to remove rough edges.
“Gravels”
In addition to pebbles we supply three gravels of different colours for use on pathways and driveways – cream, pink and champagne. These are quarried and crushed to produce an aggregate of 13mm to 19mm in diameter.
To prevent the occurrence of weeds in beds and pathways, we stock WEEDGUARD, a strong porous locally manufactured nylon cloth for use underneath the pebbles or aggregate. Water can pass through it, but weeds cannot.
Both pebbles and gravel are packed in bags and sold by weight. The most popular size is 40kgs, but 20kg bags and smaller are also available.
For those clients who need help calculating quantities needed, assistance is offered and for a nominal fee pebbles can be delivered to the site where they are to be used.
